Temporary, seasonal role focused on popcorn production in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Approximately 60-90 day assignment.
About the role
The Production Associate executes a variety of tasks supporting popcorn production and packaging to meet daily and weekly goals. Assignments rotate within the Production Department as needs arise, including operating industrial kitchen equipment, packaging, dish cleaning, and custodial duties. Teamwork, attention to detail, and comfort with repetitive routines are essential.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions to produce popcorn products.
- Maintain company Food Safety and Quality standards.
- Ensure production goals are met each day in an efficient and timely manner.
- Report any safety and/or quality concerns to management.
- Adhere to daily schedule and inform the Manager of challenges or roadblocks impacting workflow.
- Perform lifting, standing for long periods, and repetitive hand-intensive tasks.
- Follow recipes to make popcorn to company specifications while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Operate equipment such as popcorn poppers, caramel popcorn kettles, and popcorn tumblers following safety measures.
- Multitask as part of a team, assist with prep work, and operate machines to maintain efficiency.
- Transfer finished product to packaging areas.
- Ensure product quality and communicate any issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in setup, breakdown, and cleaning of stations, including special projects, following food safety guidelines.
- Complete documentation for tracking accomplishments, waste, quality assurance, sanitation, and checklists.
- Observe equipment operation and report malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Rotate to various departments as needed.
- Communicate with the Manager regarding issues, material needs, or training questions.
- Attend safety, production, and team meetings.
- Maintain professional and effective communication with all team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong preference for production or manufacturing experience.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

- Flexibility to adjust to changing systems.
- Ability to learn to operate production-related equipment effectively.
- Ability to keep accurate, ongoing logs.

- Comfort with similar daily routines and tasks.
Physical Demands
- Standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed.
- Repetitive bending, lifting, and hand/arm movements.
Pay
$20/hr
Schedule
Part-time, 2 days a week, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
