Production Associate 1 - Glass - 2nd shift

About the role
Starting pay rate: $16/hr with a $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift. The Production Associate 1 at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows and doors assembly operations while ensuring safe, high-quality production with minimal waste and on-time delivery to customers. This role requires working with urgency to maintain material flow throughout the plant.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and assemble, lift, pick, and pack products.
- Support and participate in employee engagement activities.
- Follow defined clean-up times and work safely according to established policies.
- Adhere to production rates defined by customer demand and standardized operations.
- Participate in improving standard work to enhance product quality for customers.
- Identify problems, communicate issues, and assist with training co-workers.
- Support a respectful workplace and perform other duties as directed by supervision or management.
Requirements
- Ability to read tape measures and interpret fractions and decimals.
- Basic word and number recognition or visual cues.
- Operate power tools with dexterity and know when to change PPE.
- Identify hazards and understand safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Knowledge of measurement standards, tolerances, and product defects specific to the workstation.
- Follow instructions and standard work while referring to work instructions.
- Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly, asking questions, and sharing information.
- Manage time and be aware of cycle times.
- Wear required PPE, including metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses.
- Dependability, punctuality, and attention to detail; high school diploma preferred.
- Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand for 8 to 12 hours a day.
- Consistently lift at least 50 pounds.
- Work in hot and cold environments.
- Work extended hours and weekends based on business needs.
- Be cross-trained to work in various positions and departments.
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
- Follow supervisors’ instructions and directions.
- Possess problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative skills.
- Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and ERP functionality.
