TelevisaUnivision is seeking a production assistant for Daily Hire. This position will be responsible for shooting, editing, and covering breaking news in a fast-paced environment in Kern County. We are looking for a team player who is a self-starter and is able to work independently or with the team. The position demands a strong news judgment and quick response to breaking news.

Job Responsabilities

• Respond quickly to breaking news shoot interviews, b-roll, edit and set up live shots
• Meet daily deadlines in a high-pressure news environment
• Work collaboratively with talent, photographers, producers, technical director, and news director and able to take story from concept to completion independently
• Maintain assigned equipment and vehicles and operate in a safe manner
• Able to improvise when situation warrants and troubleshoot
• Work well with digital cameras to shoot interviews
• Operate a LiveU backpack

• This is a demanding position in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment

• Important traits include being communicative, resourceful, innovative, collaborative, and detail oriented

Requirements

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Working knowledge of television news photography and technology
• Able to lift and carry broadcast video equipment (approximately 45 pounds)
• Maintain a good driving record and a valid driver’s license
• Familiar with the Kern County area
• Adobe Premier proficiency
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Able to multi-task, work well under extreme pressure, and communicate effectively
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
