Production Assistant

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the Christian Church, operates under the mission of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and addressing human needs through its services. Key qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, being at least 21 years old, having the ability to lift 50 pounds, good interpersonal skills, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donations for sorting, pricing, or disposal
• Accept donations from the public and distribute them appropriately, issuing receipts
• Assist in the store by displaying items and managing the display area
• Drive the truck as assigned after completing safety training
• Train and monitor beneficiaries in their work therapy assignments in the warehouse
• Ensure a respectful and dignified atmosphere in the workplace
• Treat customers and donors courteously, answering their questions
• Meet or exceed production quotas set by supervisors
• Keep the work area clean and safe
• Unload trucks and distribute items to the appropriate areas
• Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 21 years old
• Able to lift 50 pounds regularly
• Good people skills
• Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license with a clean MVR
• Pass a criminal background check
