Production Artist

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Artist assists design teams in graphic production for collateral, packaging, and display projects. Within the studio, works with Art Directors, Project Directors and Project managers to ensure concepts translate over into finished projects for implementation. Must have solid knowledge of four-color printing process.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for the final press-ready design, layout and formatting of materials.
• Must be able to pre-flight, collect files and archive materials.
• Responsible for attending press checks and ensure graphic standards of quality.
• Must work closely with production manager to implement proper production workflow.
• Affords assistance in graphic design development when needed.

Environmental Conditions

• The incumbent will never be exposed to toxins, chemicals, detergents, extreme temperatures (30degrees F – 115 degrees F), dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, high pitched noises, Communicable diseases, or gases.
• The incumbent will spend approximately 90% of their time indoors.

Physical Demands

• Sedentary Work:
• Lifting 20 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying articles.
• Must be able to lift and/or push up to 30 pounds with mechanical assistance.
• This position requires stooping, kneeling, bending, manual dexterity, repetitive hand and arm coordination, finger dexterity, vision acuity both far and near with depth perception.
• The incumbent will sit 75% of the time and stand/walk 25% of the time.
