Production Analyst
Position overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Production Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our production and inventory data by collecting, analyzing, and maintaining information across multiple systems. Responsibilities
- Own and ensure the accuracy of ERP production transactions (SAP or equivalent) by executing all production postings, inventory movements, and adjustments in a timely and accurate manner to maintain system integrity.
- Drive compliance with production accounting processes by validating batch data, reviewing completed batch tickets, and resolving discrepancies before system entry.
- Manage production data flow by collecting and transferring batch sheets, logs, and operational data into business systems, ensuring alignment between physical operations and SAP records.
- Perform variance analysis and reconciliation of process orders and material usage versus standards; recommend and implement BOM and routing updates to improve accuracy and cost control.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and visibility through cycle counts, variance investigations, adjustments, and by leading coordination of physical inventory activities.
- Monitor production order execution by reviewing daily status versus schedule, ensuring all orders are properly confirmed, closed, and aligned across SAP and shop floor documentation.
- Analyze and report operational performance metrics, including distillate recovery balances and KPI updates, to support data-driven decision-making.
- Support cross-functional operations and compliance by maintaining manifests and production records, ensuring readiness for quality release and shipment, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
Required skills and experience
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred), specifically in production transactions, inventory management, or process order execution.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
- Exposure to production accounting, inventory reconciliation, or material variance analysis is preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Associate’s degree or at least two years of college coursework preferred.
