Production Administrator

Description

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Production Manager and production team, prepare and maintain production schedules, work orders, and manufacturing documentation, and produce daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and performance metrics.

• Enter and maintain accurate production data within the company's ERP/MRP system.
• Maintain production records, including quality documentation, batch records, and traceability information.
• Cookordination with Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality, and Engineering departments to support production activities.
• Schedule meetings, take minutes, and distribute action points where necessary.
• Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Aid with onboarding and maintaining training records for production employees.
• Undertake general administrative duties to support the efficient operation of the manufacturing department.

Essential Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Experience

• Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience using ERP, MRP, or manufacturing management systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize workload and work to deadlines.
• Professional, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• GCSEs / Nat 5’s including Maths and English.
• A Business Administration qualification would be advantageous but not essential.

About Our Project

In Port Of Nigg, Highland Sumitomo Electric is one of the leading global manufacturers of state-of-the-art high-end electricity transmission cables, up to and including 525kV HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) cable. The new factory at Nigg, with investment value announced by the Scottish Government of £350M, will make a significant contribution towards realisation of the UK Net Zero Target by contributing to critical electricity transmission infrastructure to connect and deliver renewable energy, including offshore wind, to UK consumers and beyond. In addition, the factory will create more than 150 highly skilled jobs in the Scottish Highlands, with maximum utilisation of the local supply chain for production of cables and construction of transmission cable systems. In a significant boost for the UK green energy supply chain, Sumitomo Electric has commenced construction of its state-of-the-art subsea transmission cable factory in the Scottish Highlands. The factory will supply critical elements for the reinforcement of the UK electricity transmission grid and for connecting renewable energy production facilities to the grid.
