Responsibilities
- Performs visual, mechanical, electrical, and functional testing of BD instruments and Disposable products.
- Generates spreadsheets and reports to document test data.
- Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as microscopes, tensile testers, precision balances, pressure regulators, and other equipment.
- Affirm equipment is in good working order and within calibration limits.
- Carries out visual, mechanical, electrical, and functional tests on BD instruments and Disposable products according to written materials like test protocols, test methods memos, and verbal instructions.
- Keeps detailed, organized, and accurate records of tests performed, including documenting deviations from test methods.
- Maintains oversight of test progress and communicates with requestors as needed.
- Uses personal computers to format spreadsheets from raw data and perform statistical calculations such as standard deviations, averages, minimums, and maximums.
- Maintains a clean, organized testing area.
- Fulfills Good Documentation, Good Laboratory Practices, and ISO 17025 requirements to support laboratory compliance.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to respond to questions from engineers and managers.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practice.
- Ability to convert from metric to other systems of measurement and back.
- Associates Degree (A.S) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborates with Engineering and other divisions within the organization.
- Knowledge of Quality disciplines, including Design Control, GMP’s, and Good Laboratory Practice.
