Product Support Engineer

About the role
Oversee technical, production, and cost reduction issues for production and legacy programs. Provide extensive support to product engineering, project management engineering, test engineering, quality engineering, and final assembly. Provide leadership within the group to meet production goals such as on-time delivery, cost, and scrap reduction.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for redesign efforts.
- Correlate expected performance with test results.
- Perform data reduction and present results in a clear and concise manner.
- Understand manufacturing approach and limitations.
- Support design engineering in evaluation of new designs/prototypes before release.
- Work with interns, test engineering, and engineering technicians on specific program tasks including test procedure development, test station development, and data reduction software.
- Work independently or within a team environment.
- Ensure that project schedules are met.
- Understand basic microwave component theory and practical realization as it relates to the device under test (DUT).
- Support production with basic knowledge of digital electronics.
- Support junior engineers in troubleshooting efforts.
- Understand how the DUT interfaces with the test equipment.
- Take personal ownership of internal and external customer issues and follow through to ensure a lasting service impression.
- Gather and review internal data, recognize performance variation over time, and summarize for various audiences based on needs.
- Provide training and guidance to interns, co-ops, and technicians.
- Provide leadership in the evaluation of test issues in production, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate test data and provide direction to the test team.
- Monitor and improve the test plan with respect to lead time and labor.
- Review overall product line production and test issues to identify and mitigate production problems, and feed lessons learned to appropriate staff for inclusion in design guidelines and standards.
- Ensure that product quality and reliability are maintained throughout the production processes.
- Work with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Process Engineering, and Quality Systems Engineering to develop appropriate long-term reliability and quality plans.
- Comply with and support company policies and programs regarding safety, security, ISO, EEO, OSHA, and the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience with automated test setups and troubleshooting of complex devices.
- Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and conduct structured problem-solving.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document technical specifications and furnish design review presentations.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, HFSS, and circuit simulation tools.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Strong computer skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and MATLAB.
- Actively pursues opportunities to expand job-related knowledge.
- Solid understanding of microwave theory including transmission-line concepts.
- Familiarity with equipment: Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, O-Scope, DC Supplies, DMM.
- Ability to interface with customers and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Proficient with at least one product line and knowledgeable with several others, with an understanding of product function, performance drivers, and troubleshooting ability.
- Collect, summarize, review, and analyze data to develop appropriate solutions.
- Takes full responsibility for assigned projects and tasks.

Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following the date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $58,857 - $98,095.
Additional compensation
- An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment.
- Positions hired for alternative shifts may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
