Safran is seeking a proactive, solutions-oriented Product Support Engineer to drive the design and maintenance of critical test benches, jigs, and tools while ensuring the highest standards in actuator maintenance for aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for aeronautic repair station operations, collaborating with quality, operations, program management, suppliers, and customers.
  • Prepare, write, and review technical documentation and procedures for product maintenance and testing.
  • Oversee and validate First Article Inspection in partnership with Quality and Shop Managers.
  • Develop and implement new maintenance and test capabilities, ensuring company standards and specifications are met.
  • Design, modify, and upgrade test benches, jigs, and tools to optimize the maintenance of Safran Actuation systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and lab testing, converting findings into actionable reports.
  • Validate tool and equipment designs against technical requirements.
  • Lead the resolution of engineering-related line stoppages.
  • Plan and track project progress, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide training to technicians on maintenance procedures for new products.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory policies (ITAR, internal guidelines).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and hands-on experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
  • U.S. person status per ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Skills

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical or aerospace systems.
  • Ability to design and update test equipment and tools from technical specifications and data.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance processes, technical documentation, and test procedure generation.
  • Experience interpreting and creating engineering drawings and technical instructions.
  • Analytical thinking, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and planning.
  • Leadership qualities, adaptability, and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborative spirit to work with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of change control management, process validation, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Time will be divided between an office (quiet environment) and shop/laboratory settings (may require hearing protection).
  • Regular computer and technical equipment use.
  • Ability to remain stationary at times, with occasional movement across workspace and the capability to lift or move up to 10 lbs.
  • Close-range observation and clear communication are essential.
