About the role
The Product Structure Specialist works as part of a team responsible for maintaining Kenworth bills of material (BOM) and selection logic integrity, and processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to support timely project implementations.
Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains bills of material (parts lists and work instructions) required to support Kenworth truck production
- Interprets and translates source document information into bill of material and selection logic to define product configurations and part requirements
- Communicates with Engineering and Change Control to ensure correct interpretation and implementation of design documentation
- Supports completion of ECN bill of material and selection updates to support project launch timing and minimize plant rework
- Investigates identified implementation issues and processes feedback to update bill of material files
- Supports creation of new sales option code content
- Communicates issue and/or project status updates to stakeholders in various levels of the PACCAR organization
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, math or technical field required; degree in Engineering strongly preferred
- 0-1+ years of experience required
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level of initiative and demonstrated use of proactive problem-solving approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders and manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with Change Management software and COPICS mainframe applications desired
- Leverage Lean training
- Previous automotive and/or manufacturing experience/truck knowledge a plus
