About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Security Engineer (Lead) to join our Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Product Security Engineering (PSE) team, specifically supporting the 787 Airplane Program in North Charleston, South Carolina. The successful candidate will be a key technical leader responsible for ensuring the security, resilience, and safety of our aircraft and related systems. This role involves partnering closely with program leadership, providing technical guidance to the PSE team, and representing PSE interests at program and system levels. The engineer will develop and execute strategies to address product security concerns, oversee technical reviews, and contribute to the continuous improvement of security practices across the program lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, or product security.
  • Experience in coordinating and presenting complex technical content to diverse audiences.
  • Deep understanding of airplane systems and network architectures.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal technical Subject Matter Expert and Lead Engineer for all 787 Product Security Engineering concerns, including products, manufacturing, and factory operations.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to PSE team members and deployed teams.
  • Establish technical strategies, plans, and project proposals aligned with program objectives.
  • Define and characterize PSE-related work, roles, and responsibilities to meet project requirements.
  • Support the development of business and workforce plans in collaboration with the 787 PSE Leader.
  • Conduct technical design reviews, validate assumptions, and ensure engineering excellence throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Participate in and influence system, engineering, and program-level change boards.
  • Engage in risk, issue, and opportunity management, as well as safety management systems related to PSE.
  • Oversee and approve technical approaches, products, and processes to ensure security standards are met.
  • Deliver consistent, dependable, and integrated PSE solutions that enhance the security and resiliency of the 787 aircraft and production environment.
