Product Safety Engineer

Job Description

• Require standard knowledge needed IEC 62368-1 and or IEC 61010-1.
• The Engineer should be able to prep their Test Plans & execute on testing.
• The Engineer should be able to fill in their TRF pertaining to the above standards. Guidance will be provided as needed from senior engineers and management.
• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
• Test products in accordance with standards and requirements. Core tests include, but are not limited to power input, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, stability, mechanical hazards, flammability, abnormal and single fault, IP testing and others as applicable per project and compliance requirements.
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
• Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing and project execution.
• Perform preliminary design reviews (PDR) as they grow in their career.
• Communication with customers & sales on project status.

Qualifications

• Minimum Educational Qualifications: Four-year college degree – Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 1 to 4 years of product safety experience in Testing, inspection and certification /NRTL lab is required.
• IEC 60601-1 & IEC 62368-1 required.
• The ability to travel as business needs dictate up to 15%.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

• Able to sit (or stand) for long periods of time.
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Additional Information

Compensation: Salary: $75,000-$100,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
