About the role
Join TÜV SÜD and lead a team of Product Safety Engineers dedicated to ensuring the safety, compliance, and performance of products across global markets. In this leadership role, you will combine technical expertise, people leadership, and operational excellence to support clients through complex product certification and testing programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Safety Engineers while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- Recruit, onboard, and support the professional growth of engineering talent through coaching and performance management.
- Oversee product safety evaluations and certification activities in accordance with applicable IEC, UL, and international standards.
- Ensure the timely delivery of certificates, test reports, and technical documentation to clients.
- Manage complex certification projects, balancing technical requirements, schedules, and customer expectations.
- Support business development activities by defining project scope, timelines, budgets, and technical solutions.
- Partner with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of product safety engineering experience within the Test, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry.
- 3–5 years of engineering management or team leadership experience.
- Proven success leading and developing technical teams of five or more engineers.
- Strong knowledge of IEC and UL standards, OSHA NRTL requirements, and the IECEE CB Scheme.
- Experience with product safety testing equipment and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and multiple concurrent projects is highly valued.

Pay
The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $65,000 - $75,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
