Product Repair Technician

Position Summary

At Parker Meggitt (Securaplane), we specialize in commercial and military aerospace markets, offering a variety of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Our team works closely with leading aerospace companies such as Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, and Textron.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
• Maintain an acceptable safety record
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required
• May need to work weekends, variable schedules, and additional hours as necessary
• Willing to learn to test and troubleshoot various products as required
• Completes necessary training to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performance
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Self-monitor work progress against fast-paced area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery of all work
• Absorb and assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects
• Absorb and assist with other departmental job duties and tasks, as needed within the scope of expertise
• Perform maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer's instructions for continued airworthiness, services bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA
• Complete work according to instructions, specifications, and procedures, with limited supervision
• Properly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance record
• Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certifications: N/A
• Experience: 0-2 years work experience in an electronics manufacturing/testing environment (preferably Aerospace)
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, ability to work independently and in a team environment, ability to read schematics and understand circuit functions, ability to utilize manual and automated test equipment to test digital and analog circuits, perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the component level, ability to communicate fluently in technical terms both verbally and in writing, experience with MS Office Suite, computer literacy
• Candidate Requirement: Pass a written electronics test to be moved to the interview stage of the recruitment process

Physical Requirements

• Approximately 80% sitting and 20% standing/walking in indoor company facilities
• Lift and carry up to 35 lbs
• Use hand tools and power tools
• Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side
• Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
• Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling
• Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
