Parker Meggitt (Securaplane) a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Oro Valley, AZ, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier of camera systems, energy storage products, and security systems in aerospace markets. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, and Textron, among others Position Summary The Test Technician position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work, and testing of various electrical/electronic equipment. Responsibilities Maintain a clean and orderly workstationMaintain an acceptable safety recordMaintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessaryWilling to learn to test and troubleshoot various products as requiredCompletes necessary training to maintain knowledge and skills required for job performanceFollow written and verbal instructionsPosition requires overtime to production schedules and demands Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and proceduresSelf-monitor work progress against fast-paced area benchmarks and achieve on time delivery of all workAssist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projectsAssist other departments with job duties and tasks, as needed within the scope of expertisePerform maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ instructions for continued airworthiness, services bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAAComplete work according to instructions, specifications and procedures, with limited supervisionProperly record the work performed on the appropriate maintenance recordAble and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as requiredOther responsibilities as assigned Physical Requirements Approximately 80% sitting and 20% standing/walking about in-door Company facilitiesLift and Carry up to 35 lbsUse hand tools, and power toolsUse head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-sidePerform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands.Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelfPush and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloadedMinimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneelingMinimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfacesTyping with computer and keyboard Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Certifications: N/A Experience: 0-2 years work experience in an electronics Manufacturing/Testing environment (preferably Aerospace) Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to read schematics and understand the circuit functionAbility to utilize manual and automated test equipment to test digital and analog circuitryPerform troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the component level Must be able to communicate fluently in technical terms both verbally and in writingAbility to operate environmental test chambersExperience with MS Office SuiteMust be computer literate Candidate Requirement: Candidate must pass a written electronics test to be moved to the interview stage of the recruitment process.
