About the role
Join Rockwell Automation as a Product Quality Engineer and help drive product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction across the product lifecycle. In this role, you will lead root cause investigations, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field teams to solve complex quality issues.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the quality representative for assigned product lines or platforms.
- Drive quality performance across product design, validation, manufacturing, and post-market activities.
- Monitor quality metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Validate failure modes identified through field returns, customer complaints, and internal testing.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and operations teams to address quality issues and improve product and process performance.
- Support new product introductions through quality planning, controls, testing strategies, and risk assessments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability and reduce defects and cost of poor quality.
- Collaborate with supplier quality teams to address supplier-related defects and corrective actions.
- Analyze customer feedback and warranty data to identify trends and proactively address quality concerns.
- Participate in resolving critical customer and field quality issues.
- Maintain documentation of investigations, corrective actions, and validation activities.
- Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and summaries for leadership reviews.
- Support compliance with quality management systems and applicable quality standards.
Requirements
- You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in product quality, manufacturing quality, or reliability engineering.
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, or similar approaches.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience in industrial automation, electronics, or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with controllers, drives, HMI, industrial software, or similar products.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and accelerated life testing.
