About the role

Drive innovation, profitability, and operational excellence across a dynamic food production network. As a Product Quality Coordinator, you will inspect, sort, and handle products to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards while adhering to food safety, sanitation, and labeling requirements. You will collaborate with production, quality assurance, shipping, and receiving teams to manage customer returns, identify product issues, maintain documentation, and support smooth daily operations. This hands-on role contributes directly to product integrity and operational success by upholding attention to detail, following procedures, and ensuring compliance with Perdue and USDA standards. Responsibilities

  • Clean and inspect the Sortation room according to SOP to ensure it passes the start-of-shift inspection (refer to SOP on Cleaning and SSOP for Pre-opt and Operational).
  • Perform sortation duties following SOPs and GMPs, including wearing white lab coats, gloves, and proper labeling to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Conduct sortation operations on all product forms requiring inspection (e.g., customer returns, damages, aged product, unlabeled product, defects) in accordance with Perdue product specifications.
  • Complete necessary forms and document processes.
  • Manage cash sales and donations according to SOPs, communicate issues to the QA Lead (Manager), and submit paperwork to accounting and shipping as required.
  • Ensure product labeling complies with all Perdue and USDA requirements, including returns to Perdue plants, and communicate status.
  • Check the status of Customer Returns daily; coordinate with Receiving if product has not been received. Follow the SOP for product Returns on Mondays or when the QA tech for shipping/receiving is unavailable.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ related experience.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Operate equipment and perform duties safely, using proper lifting techniques, goggles when applying chemicals, and correct labeling of chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift an average of 90 lbs. (totes/cases).

Pay

Base rate of $21.07 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials, and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (performance-based).

Schedule

Thursday through Saturday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
