About the Role

The Technology Product Owner is responsible for managing the development and delivery of various initiatives in support of an IT Roadmap, specifically for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, and its internal business partners across the organization. This role primarily supports enterprise data solutions that enable operational, financial, compliance, and decision making. The Product Owner will partner closely with internal business stakeholders to ensure data products are accurate, scalable, and aligned to evolving business needs.

The Technology Product Owner works closely with the product team, which consists of business analysts, developers, testers, and other cross-functional teams (both internally to IT as well as the business), to define the product vision, a business and technology roadmap, features, and user stories. The Technology Product Owner also oversees the product backlog, prioritizes tasks according to business value and customer feedback, and ensures the product meets quality standards and business objectives while delivering value within resource and budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership and internal business stakeholders to define and prioritize data delivery and transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure data solutions meet business requirements for accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and usability across supported departments.
  • Define and validate product requirements, features/epics, and user stories to ensure they are clear, concise, and testable.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to align with the product vision, roadmap, and customer needs.
  • Work with the product team and business owners to plan and execute product development sprints and releases, providing necessary guidance and support.
  • Review and accept product deliverables, providing feedback to ensure they meet acceptance criteria and quality standards.
  • Manage the product lifecycle to ensure compliance, quality, and delivery of value to customers and stakeholders.
  • Accountable for the successful execution of the current sprint and preparation for upcoming sprints.
  • Establish team velocity to provide insights for forecasting future efforts.
  • Collaborate with BA/Dev/QA Leads to ensure cohesive efforts toward meeting sprint goals.
  • Manage sprint priorities in accordance with the product roadmap.
  • Proactively engage with business stakeholders to support new feature rollouts.
  • Break down work into consumable parts to ensure regular demos with key stakeholders.
  • Identify future dependencies and plan accordingly.
  • Manage sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Actively communicate with key stakeholders when sprint goals are in jeopardy.
  • Proactively remove blockers to progress.
  • Create facts-based, metrics-driven project dashboards for all technology workstreams to provide visibility on progress.
  • Partner with the EPMO reporting team to improve JIRA usage as the source of truth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, business, logistics, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum five years' experience as a product owner, product manager, business analyst, or similar role in a digital product development environment.
  • PMI, PMP, PMI ACP, CSM certification, or equivalent preferred.
  • ITIL knowledge preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data initiatives and digital transformation efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies, tools, and best practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Trello).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and analytically to translate customer needs into product requirements and user stories.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and provide value.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models, Agile, and traditional Waterfall project management principles.
  • Extensive experience working with vendors and offshore resources.
  • Proficient technical background to provide leadership to development teams and evaluate complex product risks.
  • Experience with Release Management and ensuring business engagement during new feature releases.
  • Proactive in communicating upcoming deployments and features to the business.
  • Strong Jira knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications.

Pay

This role is an exempt position with a targeted salary range of $124,139 to $140,000 annually. Compensation at Guild is influenced by factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and geographical location.

Schedule

Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday.

  • Number of indirect reports: 10-15.

Requirements

  • Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and meanings at conversational volume. Regularly required to perceive and interpret visual and audio information.
  • Environmental: Office environment with moderate noise and no substantial exposure to adverse conditions.
  • Mental: Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, and make timely decisions. Requires adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints and competing priorities. Must adhere to process protocols and apply established protocols in a timely manner.
