About the role

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of our Product Builder experience across a consumer photo ecommerce ecosystem. Our Product Builders enable customers to create personalized photo products including photo books, prints, cards, calendars, wall decor, and other customized products. These experiences are powered by both internal solutions and third-party platforms. As the Product Owner, you will own the builder experience from concept through delivery, prioritizing enhancements, managing the product backlog, partnering with engineering teams and third-party vendors, and continuously improving the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for all builder-related features, enhancements, and defect resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, systems integrators, and third-party vendors to define requirements, write user stories, and establish acceptance criteria.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Evaluate the builder experience against industry trends, customer expectations, and competitor capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize builder workflows, design tools, templates, personalization capabilities, and overall user experience.
  • Define product strategy and requirements for PIM, DAM, and related catalog systems supporting builder functionality.
  • Establish catalog standards, tooling requirements, and data governance processes that improve accuracy and speed to market.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Web, Mobile, Kiosk, UX, Engineering, Marketing, and Business stakeholders.
  • Research emerging technologies including AI-powered personalization, smart templates, automated design assistance, and creative tooling.
  • Use analytics (GA4, GTM, Microsoft Clarity, etc.) to monitor customer behavior and guide product decisions.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for builder platforms across the ecommerce organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar Agile product leadership role.
  • Experience managing product customization tools, creative editors, design builders, or similar customer-facing platforms.
  • Experience working with third-party software vendors and systems integrators.
  • Hands-on experience managing product backlogs using Azure DevOps, Jira, Aha!, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Able to balance strategic product vision with day-to-day execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe POPM, or similar certification.
  • Master's degree in Product Management, UX, HCI, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with composable commerce platforms or third-party product builder/editor solutions.
  • Knowledge of Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), and catalog governance.
  • Experience conducting UX research or usability testing.
  • Familiarity with GA4, GTM, Microsoft Clarity, or similar analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies for personalization, smart design, or creative automation.
  • Background in photo products, print-on-demand, digital printing, or personalized consumer products.
