About the Role
This is a one-year onsite position based in Hoboken, NJ, focused on product ownership for software products and digital platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, Product Ownership, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience; related graduate degree or advanced certification preferred.
- 5–7+ years in product ownership, product management, or related roles supporting software products and digital platforms.
- Demonstrated experience translating customer, stakeholder, and business needs into requirements, roadmap priorities, backlog decisions, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong customer-facing experience incorporating Voice of Customer into product direction.
- Experience with web-based, enterprise, platform, or data-driven products preferred.
- Deep understanding of product discovery, roadmap development, backlog prioritization, release planning, agile delivery, and tradeoff analysis balancing customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and operational considerations.
Responsibilities
Product Backlog and Release Planning
- Conduct current-state assessment and maintain a prioritized product backlog for assigned product areas.
- Define epics, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria aligned to product strategy.
- Provide release and sequencing recommendations with documented tradeoffs and dependencies.
- Deliver regular status and progress reporting using delivery data, feedback, and stakeholder input.
Product Discovery, Roadmaps, and Vision
- Summarize Voice of Customer and stakeholder research with validated problems and opportunities.
- Develop a product roadmap for assigned areas aligned to business priorities and technology strategy.
- Document product vision and future-state, including MRDs/PRDs or equivalent artifacts as needed.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment on roadmap themes, workstreams, and client-facing messaging where applicable.
Final Review and Handover
- Provide a summary of product decisions, process improvements, and backlog/roadmap refinements made during the engagement.
- Offer guidelines and recommendations to inform continued product ownership, discovery, and planning efforts.
