Product Owner
About the role
The Product Owner oversees day-to-day operations and customer service for mobility and transportation-related services, with a primary focus on supporting an internal operations team. This role prioritizes operational work, manages vendor relationships, and drives continuous improvement through data-driven insights and process optimization. The Product Owner collaborates closely with internal business stakeholders and engineering teams to enhance service delivery, support internal automation initiatives, and ensure that operational performance meets defined KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and customer service for all mobility and transportation-related services and offerings.
- Routinely prioritize planned work and groom the operations backlog to ensure the team focuses on the most impactful initiatives at the right time.
- Manage relationships with vendors to ensure appropriate staffing levels and service requirements are consistently met.
- Research new technologies and alternative methods to improve operational efficiency, with a particular focus on automation opportunities.
- Assist the team manager with administrative responsibilities, including creation of labor budgets, reviewing and redlining contracts and statements of work, and supporting resource management activities.
- Assist in creating training and onboarding programs for new customers to ensure smooth adoption of services.
- Evaluate existing operations procedures and processes to identify deficiencies and areas for improvement, and lead redesign efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Create detailed vehicle performance reports that track generated revenues, costs, usage, and overall operational performance.
- Collaborate closely with internal operations and customer service departments to understand their needs and challenges and translate them into actionable work items.
- Engage with internal business stakeholders to discuss service performance, customer impacts, and operational priorities, ensuring clear alignment and expectations.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal services, taking responsibility for service quality and delivery to internal stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with engineering teams to understand technical issues, characterize problems, and support prioritization of solutions.
- Spend a significant portion of time (approximately 50–75%) on operations, service delivery, and stakeholder communication to maintain high service standards.
- Provide product ownership for internal automation frameworks, working with internal teams to prioritize and refine user stories and operational enhancements (approximately 30% of daily responsibilities).
- Monitor and interpret operational numbers and KPIs, using strong math skills to analyze performance and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Work within a cloud environment, particularly AWS, leveraging knowledge of cloud services to support operational initiatives and internal tools (without developing scripts or programs).
- Support technical coordination and resource planning to ensure that operational and automation initiatives are properly staffed and executed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field.
- Understanding of mobility, transportation, or automotive-related operations and services.
- Experience with resource planning and technical coordination in an operational or product-focused environment.
- Solid math skills to interpret KPIs, analyze numerical data, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of AWS services and the ability to work within a cloud environment to support internal tools and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, analyzing, and reporting on operational and performance data.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in coordinating cross-functional teams and driving operational initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal business stakeholders, operations teams, customer service teams, and engineering groups.

- Ability to work effectively with teams and stakeholders across different geographic regions.
- Experience supporting internal operations teams and internal stakeholders in a product owner or similar role.
- Familiarity with automation concepts and frameworks in an operational context.
- Comfort working with cloud-based tools and environments, particularly AWS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in evaluating processes and performance.
- Ability to create clear, detailed reports and documentation for operational performance and vehicle metrics.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid work environment that combines remote work with in-office collaboration. The team typically meets in the office on Tuesdays to work together, align priorities, and discuss ongoing initiatives. The work focuses on internal support for operations and automation within a cloud-based environment, particularly AWS, and involves regular interaction with business stakeholders, operations staff, and engineering teams. The position offers a stable engagement with long-term internal support work and the potential for conversion to a permanent role, providing opportunities for professional growth and ongoing involvement in mobility and transportation-related services.
Job Type & Location
This is a permanent, hybrid position based in Plano, TX.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00 per hour. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
