Product Marketing Manager, TalentPro (3 Month Contract)
About the role
This is a three-month contract engagement to build the go-to-market (GTM) motion for TalentPro, a managed talent-acquisition service built specifically for Hawaii small businesses. TalentPro is launching this year with no existing positioning, sales history, or established buyer behavior—you’ll define all of it. You’ll report to the VP of Marketing with a dotted line to the TalentPro GM, and success means handing off a running GTM motion, a full enablement package, and a live KPI framework by the end of the term.
Responsibilities
- Build the core product positioning, messaging framework, and competitive differentiation for TalentPro, and drive it to sign-off with marketing leadership and the GM within the first three weeks.
- Define buyer personas and audience segmentation across Hawaii’s small-business market—restaurants, healthcare clinics, construction, retail, and hospitality.
- Develop the go-to-market strategy, launch timeline, and rollout sequencing across beta, limited availability, and general availability.
- Create the sales enablement package—battle cards, FAQs, and objection-handling guides—and brief the sales team ahead of general availability.
- Produce and coordinate launch collateral end to end: landing pages, one-pagers, case studies, announcement materials, and campaign content.
- Define adoption, pipeline, revenue, and awareness KPIs, stand up the tracking framework, and deliver a post-launch retrospective before the contract closes.
Requirements
- Experience launching a new product or service to market—not just managing messaging for an established product.
- Ability to build positioning for a product with no track record and translate evolving details into actionable messaging for sales, clients, and the market.
- Strong strategic instincts, sharp writing, and discipline to run parallel workstreams against a fixed deadline.
- Proven ability to create value propositions that hold up in front of customers, even with incomplete specs or moving pricing.
- Clear, concise writing that sales teams use without rewriting—your battle cards, FAQs, and messaging appear verbatim in live calls and team communications.
- Experience finding unique angles in competitive markets—rejecting industry framing to craft a story that makes a service feel necessary, not optional.
- Ability to run a launch plan, not just a task list—holding fixed dates with multiple workstreams, making sequencing calls, and delivering assets on time.
- Skill in aligning stakeholders with differing priorities—making evidence-based cases to secure genuine buy-in from leadership.
Schedule
This is a three-month contract engagement tied to TalentPro’s launch milestones and final handoff. The term may be extended by mutual written agreement.
Work is remote statewide in Hawaii, with occasional in-person sessions at the Hawaii Kai office on Oahu for key milestones (kickoff, positioning/messaging working sessions, sales enablement briefing, and launch-readiness reviews). Neighbor island travel for these sessions is covered, and dates will be provided well in advance.
Pay
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement with a rate of $80.00 – $113.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, invoiced against actual hours worked.
