Product Marketing Manager - Subscriptions
Remote position requiring PST working hours. Hourly pay range: $41–$46.
About the role
Our client is seeking a Product Marketing Manager for Subscriptions to lead the strategy, growth, and commercialization of their subscription business. This role will drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, retention, and business growth through strategic marketing, go-to-market leadership, and cross-functional partnership. As the primary marketing partner to the subscriptions product team, this role will help shape product strategy, launch new offerings, and develop innovative promotions and growth tactics. They will also act as the franchise subject-matter expert for subscriptions, ensuring subscription products are integrated into key campaigns, game updates, and player experiences. Success in this role means making subscriptions a meaningful driver of player engagement and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Help define and execute growth strategies for the subscription portfolio.
- Analyze customer, market, and business insights to identify opportunities that improve acquisition, engagement, retention, and subscriber lifetime value.
- Partner with business and product stakeholders to influence subscription strategy and future investments.
- Serve as the primary marketing partner to the subscriptions product team, helping shape product roadmaps, customer experiences, value propositions, and launch strategies.
- Bring customer, market, and competitive insights into product planning to influence future subscription offerings and experiences.
- Act as the marketing lead for the subscriptions business across key stakeholder groups.
- Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new subscription products, benefits, features, and business initiatives.
- Develop positioning, messaging, launch strategies, and marketing plans that drive awareness, trial, and adoption.
- Partner with analytics, lifecycle marketing, and business teams to measure performance and identify opportunities to optimize conversion and retention.
- Act as the subject-matter expert for subscriptions across marketing efforts, ensuring subscription offerings are integrated into major game drops, seasonal campaigns, retail moments, creator initiatives, and franchise activations.
- Identify opportunities to position subscriptions as a core driver of player value, engagement, and community participation across the ecosystem.
- Work closely with Affiliate Marketing, Product Lifecycle Marketing (PLM), Paid Media, and broader growth teams to develop and execute subscription acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Help define channel strategies, promotional plans, and activation frameworks that maximize subscription growth and business impact.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, subscriptions marketing, or related marketing disciplines.
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies for consumer products, digital services, subscription businesses, or recurring revenue offerings.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with stakeholders across product, marketing, analytics, and business teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing subscription products, membership programs, digital commerce offerings, or recurring revenue businesses.
- Experience working with affiliate marketing, paid media, CRM/lifecycle marketing, or growth marketing channels.
- Experience in gaming, entertainment, creator platforms, digital marketplaces, or consumer technology.
- Knowledge of Minecraft and passion for gaming, online communities, and player engagement.
