About the Role
The Product Marketing Manager develops positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and sales enablement efforts while collaborating on marketing activities for their products. This role serves as the expert in product messaging, buyer personas, and competitive landscape, driving the creation of compelling value propositions that resonate with target audiences and empower sales channels.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the expert on buyers, their purchasing processes, and key buying criteria.
- Analyze the competitive landscape, including current and future competitor positioning.
- Monitor and assess market trends (e.g., KLAS data) that may impact product positioning.
- Document the buyer’s journey, including information sources and decision-making factors.
- Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to develop resonant product positioning and messaging, translating technical details into buyer benefits.
- Lead the launches of new products and updates to existing products.
- Craft compelling messages, differentiators, and value propositions for assigned products.
- Develop, execute, and adjust annual marketing plans for assigned products.
- Mine, document, and share key ROI drivers and market-facing data points with sales and marketing teams.
- Support sales channels through training, product certifications, and sales enablement tools.
- Develop demo scripts and assist in product demonstrations as needed.
- Provide front-line sales support, including expertise on product features, positioning, and enablement tools.
- Collaborate with marketing to create positioned external content, such as sales presentations, collateral, case studies, thought leadership pieces, and ROI models.
- Develop key messages and differentiators for product-specific demand generation campaigns.
- Manage product-related web, social, and online advertising content.
- Build strong relationships with product management, marketing, sales, customer support, and other internal teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of product marketing experience.
- 2 years of experience in healthcare technology or payments solutions (preferred).
Skills
- Natural storytelling ability to translate features and benefits into emotional messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong value proposition development and messaging strategy skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Detail-oriented project management and teamwork capabilities.
- Curiosity about product functionality and pain points, with a consultative approach to product marketing.
- Proficiency in conducting market, competitor, and customer research to assess opportunities.
- Strategic ability to create pipeline for new offerings and identify upsell/cross-sell paths.
- Strong public speaking and writing skills, comfortable presenting to large, senior groups.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, and SharePoint.
Healthcare technology and/or payments experience is a plus.
