About the role

This position is responsible for maximizing the value of one or more database products by working with stakeholders to understand their needs and aligning priorities with product owners or specialists. You will ensure the delivery of products that meet client expectations for features, security, availability, resiliency, timelines, and costs. The role also involves serving as the point person for customer presentations and questions related to these technologies.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with the architecture of multiple database technologies, has experience with both Linux and Windows, is proficient in database security/patching and Jira, and possesses strong documentation skills.

This Product Manager role focuses on SQL Server, MongoDB, TigerGraph, SingleStore, and Cassandra databases, both on-premises and in external cloud environments. Responsibilities include developing product roadmaps, collecting customer feedback for platform enhancements, providing database engineering with quarterly requirements, and creating epics in Jira for operational sign-off and release.

Responsibilities

  • Generate the vision and roadmap for the program based on customer requirements, industry trends, regulations, and the strategic direction for the business or technology domain.
  • Communicate the program vision and roadmap to stakeholders, product owners, and teams.
  • Oversee the budget(s) for one or more products by working closely with finance partners on personnel and non-personnel expenses.
  • Provide input into defining business capabilities and aligning them to products or creating new products to support them.
  • Ensure product availability by partnering closely with demand and capacity teammates.
  • Develop business cases for new products and additional features for existing products.
  • Partner with product owners and teams to ensure optimum value is obtained through technology and subject-matter expertise, as well as understanding of the business and industry trends.

Requirements

  • 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting database solutions using SQL Server and at least one Linux-based database management system.
  • Strong expertise in relational, NoSQL, graph, and distributed database technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize database performance, ensure data integrity, and support high-volume, scalable applications across multiple database platforms.
  • Experience with database modeling, administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in complex enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining data solutions leveraging SQL Server and at least one Linux-based database management system.
  • Ability to receive requirements from CIO and Infrastructure teams and translate them into tangible requirements for Database Engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Financial industry experience (desired).
  • Experience supporting MongoDB, TigerGraph, SingleStore, and Cassandra (desired).
  • Knowledge of Jira (desired).
