Product Manager, Supply Chain Insights
About the role
The Product Manager, Supply Chain Insights is responsible for building products that help customers turn complex supply chain and product data into actionable insights. This role identifies opportunities to create new value from compliance, packaging, sustainability, and product information, enabling customers to improve decision-making, reduce risk, and respond more quickly to changing market and regulatory demands. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams, the Product Manager will help shape the evolution of Supply Chain Insights from managing compliance transactions to delivering intelligence-driven solutions that provide greater visibility across the supply chain and unlock new opportunities for growth, efficiency, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Use the established product vision in concert with deep market understanding to inform the product strategy.
- Evaluate market needs against UL’s and competitors’ unique abilities to address them.
- Support and contribute to a go-to-market strategy, describing how value will be delivered to the customer/user, how the product is differentiated from the competition, and what the business model should be.
- Prioritize product functions and features into a product roadmap.
- Monitor a set of product goals, outcomes, and corresponding metrics to continually evaluate progress.
- Evangelize and communicate the product vision, strategy, and goals internally across the organization, as well as externally with client users.
- Actively model and promote a set of desired behaviors aligned with UL’s Ways of Working.
- Take ownership of personal career and professional development by documenting and communicating career aspirations and any associated development needs to their manager.
- Support career development needs of direct reports by clearly defining expectations for their current role, actively soliciting their career aspirations, and helping close any gaps.
- Support an efficient cross-functional matrix structure to enable effective product development lifecycle.
- Execute a robust set of processes to power all parts of the product development lifecycle from research/discovery to release management and product support.
- Leverage a standard set of product management tools to be used across the product organization at each stage of the lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Facilitation skills – ability to lead small to medium groups of internal and external stakeholders toward desired outcomes to meet business objectives.
- Interview skills – ability to conduct discovery sessions with clients, prospects, and stakeholders to diagnose business opportunities, elicit requirements, and conduct other types of research.
- Strong communication and presentation (PowerPoint) skills.
- Experience with product management tools: product design (e.g., Invision, Zeplin), development task management (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps), documentation and knowledge (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint), collaboration (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack), roadmap and portfolio management (e.g., Aha!, Daptiv).
- Formal training and/or certification in Product Management is a plus.
- University Degree (equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree) in Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5 years or more of related discipline experience or demonstrated competency.
- Experience working with remote teams is highly preferred.
- Project management certification is a plus.

About the team
We solve our customers’ problems. Within Software & Advisory (S&A) services, UL Solutions’ Supply Chain Insights business helps our customers comply with regulatory and customer requirements and enable the development of more sustainable products and the commercialization of those products throughout the most complex, global supply chains. To accomplish this, we serve as the trusted intermediary that facilitates the transfer of data throughout all nodes of the supply chain while protecting confidential business information.
Our solutions provide intelligence and insights to industry professionals in all stages of the product life cycle—from innovation to market entry to product disposal. Customers rely on our global compliance expertise, data, and advanced software solutions to help them enhance safety, increase productivity, reduce costs, and strengthen their brands.
Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000 USD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, and geographical location. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary.
