About the Role

The Product Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the business objectives for our commercially branded products to achieve the division's short and long-term goals and overall company strategy. This position is with Helena Products Group (HPG), which develops Helena's extensive portfolio of proprietary products covering seven product categories in both crop production and crop protection. HPG leads the industry in innovation and formulation technologies from a state-of-the-art research, development, and training facility in Memphis, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the sale of Helena Products Group (HPG) branded products and services within the division.
  • Develops sales promotion programs and creates innovative ideas to increase sales and profits.
  • Trains and coaches the salesforce and leadership team about the HPG branded product line.
  • Travels with the sales team to make joint calls and present to potential customers.
  • Conducts and assists the sales team with customer meetings regarding HPG branded products.
  • Works with Business Unit & Division Management and Strategic Account Manager to establish sales and profit goals for each branch and sales team member.
  • Assists in evaluating the performance of each sales team member regarding HPG products.
  • Monitors sales goals and shares information with leadership.
  • Partners with various teams (AGRIntelligence, Agronomy, Fertilizer, etc.) to promote integration and sales efforts of total Helena offerings.
  • Works with basic suppliers and academia to educate and train them about HPG branded products.
  • Attends trade shows to assist the sales team with booths.
  • Provides input for marketing HPG branded products.
  • Operates within budget guidelines for pricing, sales strategy, market development, product promotion, and expenses.
  • Implements and coordinates new product introductions.
  • Identifies label change recommendations.
  • Provides input for product production to ensure adequate supply.
  • Maintains inventory levels consistent with leadership's requirements.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field is required. High school diploma (or equivalent) with eight years of progressive, advanced experience in the agriculture business may be considered.
  • Three years of experience in agriculture business is required.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and restraints.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required; communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill.
  • Ability to give effective sales presentations to large and small audiences.
  • Travel by various means up to 25% of the time is required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required.

Work Environment & Physical Aspects

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires the use of hands for many different tasks, as well as the ability to talk, hear, walk, stand, and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
