About the role

Paramount+ is seeking a Product Manager, Merchandising (International) to own how audiences across international markets discover and engage with content on our streaming platform. This role is responsible for defining and spearheading the international merchandising strategy and execution model, ensuring content is positioned effectively across regions while scaling through data‑driven workflows and automation. Operating at the intersection of Product, Programming, Applied Machine Learning, Marketing, Design, and Operations, this role translates global and regional content priorities into clear merchandising strategies, measurable outcomes, and repeatable operating mechanisms. The Product Manager will balance global consistency with local relevance, ensuring international discovery experiences are intuitive, compliant, and optimized for engagement and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the international on‑platform merchandising operations, including content positioning, prioritization, and lifecycle management across markets.
  • Establish consistent merchandising principles for international markets while enabling regional flexibility where audience needs or regulatory requirements differ.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to inform platform capabilities, tooling improvements, and roadmap decisions that enable scalable merchandising execution.
  • Ensure merchandising workflows are designed to support global scale while minimizing manual intervention through automation and data-driven decision making.
  • Partner closely with Programming teams to align on content intent, timing, and regional considerations.
  • Collaborate with Applied Machine Learning (AMLG) teams to define rules, constraints, and success metrics that guide personalization and automation in international markets.
  • Work with Marketing and Design partners to ensure on‑platform experience aligns with campaign objectives and brand standards, while retaining merchandising accountability.
  • Partner with Legal, Privacy, and regional stakeholders to ensure international merchandising experiences meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Champion experimentation across international markets, ensuring merchandising strategies are testable and supported by solid metadata, creative, and operational foundations.
  • Oversee monitoring and reporting to evaluate merchandising performance and surface insights that drive continuous optimization across markets.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years in product management, content merchandising, or content discovery for consumer facing digital products at scale.
  • Proven track record owning complex, cross‑functional initiatives in a global environment, with accountability for measurable outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical or quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Strong applied knowledge of data-driven methodologies, including behavioral analytics and segmentation, to inform merchandising decisions and drive subscriber level outcomes.
  • Experience defining content architecture and curation strategy across platforms, with working knowledge of how platform dependencies and metadata quality affect the consumer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner substantively with ML and engineering teams on personalization and recommendation systems, including evaluating outputs and defining constraints that reflect merchandising intent.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across product, technical, and creative teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting international or regional discovery strategies for a global streaming or media platform.
  • Proficiency with analytics and data science tooling (such as Adobe Analytics, Looker, Tableau, Python, or SQL).
  • Working knowledge of how personalization and ranking systems are built, with experience contributing to the signals and inputs that shape content recommendations.
  • Proven track record designing and interpreting experimentation programs, including A/B and multivariate testing, to drive merchandising optimization.
  • Experience working across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.

Pay

Hiring Salary Range: $100,000.00 - 147,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. This position is bonus eligible.
