Product Manager III
About the role
Join a growing team as a Product Manager within Mercury Systems’ Signal Technologies Mixed Signal Line of Business. You will collaborate with product leadership, engineering, operations, product marketing, and Line of Business leads to define and execute product strategies that meet the needs of defense and aerospace customers. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and what can be built—serving as an advocate internally with engineering and operations teams and externally with suppliers, partners, and end users. You will help evolve an established and expanding product line, applying your technical and business expertise to deliver differentiated mixed-signal solutions for mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Drive operational aspects of new product introduction from concept through development, production, and end-of-life.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with customer capability needs in defense, aerospace, and signal-intelligence markets.
- Coordinate product roadmaps with the Advanced Concept Group and associated technology roadmaps.
- Monitor industry, technology, and competitive trends to ensure product line competitiveness and long-term differentiation.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, sales, product marketing, and Line of Business leads to achieve product lifecycle, cost, schedule, and performance goals.
- Support Sales with identifying and capturing strategic customer design wins and provide technical insights to articulate customer value.
- Manage product operations, promoting enhancement of standard services and associated revenue opportunities across the Mixed Signal portfolio.
- Own all product documentation including manuals, data sheets, user guides, application notes, and release documentation. Technical documentation will be a significant responsibility.
- Create, update, and maintain accurate, customer-ready documentation that enhances customer experience and reduces support burden.
- Engage with customers, field engineers, and support teams to gather feedback ensuring documentation meets user needs.
- Establish documentation standards and quality processes across the product line.
- Build relationships with customer technical leaders to gain insight into future opportunities, mission requirements, and technology trends.
- Lead competitive product analysis based on customer interactions and application requirements.
- Drive creation of sales and marketing collateral aligned with product positioning and roadmap.
- Develop and execute product launch and marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with Line of Business leads on financial forecasting including bookings, revenue, and profitability.
- Develop strategies to increase product line profitability.
- Own end-of-life planning, long-term supply strategies, and lifecycle management for all assigned mixed-signal products.
- Coordinate End-of-Life mitigation strategies (including lifetime buys, re-spins, and redesigns) with Supply Chain Management and Engineering.
- Track projects, documentation metrics, and product KPIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of product management or operations experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or technical/industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software development processes.
- Experience authoring customer-facing technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience working cross-functionally and engaging directly with customers.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Must be able to obtain a government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Engineering) or equivalent.
- Experience with mixed-signal, RF, or embedded processing technologies.
- Experience responding to government/defense BAAs, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Experience with Madcap Flare authoring software tool is strongly preferred.
- Experience with export-controlled products.
- Familiarity with FPGAs and experience with major vendors including AMD (Xilinx) and Altera (Intel).
Pay
Salary range for this position:
- $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD, or TX, and all remote employees.
- $84,000.00 - $168,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH, or MA.
- $88,500.00 - $177,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ.
