Product Manager II, AI Tools Governance
About the role
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As AI agents become part of how the world works, that empowerment increasingly depends on trust. Agents are only as effective and reliable as the tools available to them. Organizations are connecting agents to a fast-growing ecosystem of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, plugins, skills, connectors, and custom integrations. As they do, the ability to onboard, discover, and govern those tools becomes essential to enterprise trust.
We are looking for a Product Manager II, AI Tools Governance to join the team building the tool governance experience in Agent 365. Agent 365 lets customers inventory and register tools, discover unsanctioned ones, and apply consistent policy and controls across them. In this role, you'll own the end-to-end delivery of key features within tool governance. You'll work closely with senior product leaders, engineering, and design to turn customer needs into capabilities that make agent tooling safe and easy to manage. This is a great opportunity to grow your product career in one of the fastest-moving areas of AI. You'll learn from the customer, ship often, and see your work directly shape how enterprises adopt agents with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Own the definition and delivery of one or more feature areas within tool governance, such as the tool registry and onboarding experience for MCP servers, plugins, skills, and connectors.
- Write clear specs, user scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead by example as an AI-first Product professional to scale productivity — clear specs, user scenarios, AI Evals and acceptance criteria for AI features.
- Contribute to the tool governance roadmap by bringing customer insights, data, and competitive analysis to prioritization discussions with senior product leadership.
- Engage directly with customers and partners to understand their governance and compliance needs, and translate what you learn into well-defined product requirements.
- Help build discovery and observability for unsanctioned (Shadow AI) tools, including usage and activity insights that give customers visibility into tools outside sanctioned channels.
- Drive execution day to day with engineering and design: unblock decisions, manage scope and trade-offs, and make sure features ship with quality and on schedule.
- Define and track success metrics for your features, use telemetry and customer feedback to measure adoption and impact, and iterate on what you learn.
- Support requirements for regulated and sovereign customers, including audit evidence and government cloud, in partnership with security and compliance stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partner teams across Microsoft to deliver a consistent, seamless tool governance experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product management, OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
