Product Manager - Consumer Deposits

This Product Manager role is responsible for the development, design, pricing, and management of our consumer deposit product set, including reporting and insights related to activity, pricing, profitability, customer growth, and product mix.

About the role

The Product Manager partners with key stakeholders—including line of business leadership, Finance, Marketing, Risk, Operations, and Technology—on the concept, build, and delivery of new products, as well as changes to existing products. This role ensures a positive customer experience, sound product governance, and successful outcomes while engaging with governance bodies such as New Product Approval and ALCO and adhering to all change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a product roadmap aligned with enterprise objectives, incorporating market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape analysis.
• Oversee the development and enhancement of consumer deposit products, collaborating with Operations, Technology, Line of Business, and Compliance to ensure user-friendly and compliant deployment.
• Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to identify client needs and pain points; develop KPIs and perform user research to inform product decisions.
• Manage the budget for product development, forecast financial performance, and ensure products contribute positively to the bank’s profitability.
• Ensure product design complies with relevant laws and regulations, staying updated on banking regulatory changes and working with Legal and Compliance teams.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Compliance, Risk Management, Operations, and business leaders to align teams with product strategy.
• Support Marketing, Sales, and Communications teams with product launches or changes, including training, user guides, fact sheets, FAQs, and customer election forms.
• Enhance customer experience by addressing service touchpoints, resolving issues, and continuously improving satisfaction.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle, from inception to retirement, including decisions on updates, enhancements, or discontinuation.
• Oversee vendor relationships for payments and promotions, including governance, roadmap alignment, contract/SLA oversight, and issue escalation.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for consumer deposit products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Marketing, Project Management, or Financial roles.
• Demonstrated understanding of consumer deposit products, digital banking features, and technologies.
• Analytical ability to interpret data and present insights in a clear, actionable format.
• Proficiency in financial analysis using spreadsheets to predict costs, revenue, and profitability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
• Strong project management and collaboration skills, supporting projects from discovery to post-launch review.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
• Risk-minded with a firm understanding of compliance, audit, and risk management functions.
• Commitment to teamwork and advancing the organization’s cultural and community objectives.
