Product Manager - Ceramics

About the role
You will take a hands-on approach to understand process and product capabilities and how they transfer to customer needs in the aerospace and energy markets. Collaborating with engineering, production, and commercial teams, you will drive priorities and decision-making for the product line while working at our main materials site as part of a cross-functional team. Your role will ensure strategies and projects align with market objectives and resource allocation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the product line marketplace, customer needs, technical alternatives, demand drivers, industry capacity, market share, and competitor landscape.
- Actively contribute to product presentations, marketing materials, and support the positioning of products toward customers and internal stakeholders.
- Utilize technical skills and experience to engage with key internal and external stakeholders to drive decision-making.
- Manage product allocation, demand planning, scheduling, specifications, and related product data.
- Drive performance improvements and overall product line health using KPIs, operational feedback, and structured lessons-learned processes.
- Define and evolve the long-term product vision and roadmap for ceramics in line with global business objectives, new product development (NPD), regional needs, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience (preferred).
- Technical aptitude or engineering background (beneficial but not required).
- Background in materials with a focus on aerospace and/or energy (beneficial but not required).
- Demonstrated ability to make sound business decisions and exercise strong judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet business objectives.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. person under relevant export control regulations.
