About the role

We’re seeking a Product Management Analyst with deep, hands‑on experience in data analytics, data governance, and data engineering. The analyst will drive value from enterprise data platforms through disciplined product ownership and Agile delivery, owning the backlog, translating complex data needs into actionable user stories, partnering closely with engineering, and using SQL to validate data, troubleshoot issues, and inform decisions. Experience with Collibra and data‑quality frameworks is a strong plus. This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates in the DMV area.

Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership & Strategy: Own product vision and roadmap for data products (datasets, pipelines, quality rules, dashboards); convert stakeholder requirements into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria; define and track measurable product metrics such as adoption, data‑quality scores, SLA compliance, and performance.
  • Agile Delivery (Scrum): Run Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑up, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives); partner with Scrum Master and Technical Leads to remove impediments, manage scope, and keep delivery predictable; champion Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
  • Data Analysis & SQL: Write and review SQL to validate datasets across environments; collaborate with analysts and data scientists to define KPIs, analytical features, and insight‑driven use cases.
  • Data Governance & Collibra: Partner with governance teams to establish stewardship workflows, standards, naming conventions, certification processes, and data‑issue resolution; use a data catalog (Collibra or similar) to manage metadata, lineage, and data‑quality rules/scorecards; drive onboarding of governed datasets and monitor quality thresholds.
  • Data Engineering Partnership: Work side‑by‑side with data engineers on ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns; provide clear requirements for schema design, partitioning, indexing, and performance optimization; validate outcomes via SQL and acceptance tests.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Lead discovery workshops; synthesize diverse viewpoints into consensus on priorities and release plans; create crisp artifacts such as data dictionaries, business rules, lineage diagrams, workflow maps, and release notes; present progress and insights to business and leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of product management experience delivering data‑centric products (analytics, governance, engineering).
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Proven ability to run Scrum end‑to‑end and translate complex requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present to clients and collaborate across engineering, governance, and business teams.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Collibra or another data‑catalog tool (metadata, lineage, stewardship, data‑quality rules and scorecards).
  • Exposure to modern data stacks (e.g., AWS/Azure, data lake/warehouse, orchestration tools) and collaboration with data engineers, architects, and analysts.
  • Background supporting federal, healthcare, or enterprise‑scale data programs.

Pay

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 – $88,550. Compensation will be set based on experience, geographic location, and any contractual requirements, and may fall outside of this range.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 weekly hours. Travel requirement is 10‑25 % of the time. Telecommuting option is hybrid, with the role being remote (any location) and a preference for candidates in the DMV area.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision plans (including options with Health Savings Accounts).
  • 401(k) plan with pre‑ and post‑tax contribution options and company match.
  • Full flex‑work weeks where possible.
  • Paid time off: typically 15 days of paid leave per calendar year plus 10 paid holidays (prorated based on hire date).
  • Paid Family Leave program offering up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12‑month period for eligible employees.
  • Short‑ and long‑term disability, life, accidental death & dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness, and business travel accident insurance.
  • Regular review of the Total Rewards package to ensure competitiveness and alignment with employee values.
