About the role
Corning is seeking a Product Line Specialist to drive the day-to-day business management and strategic execution of a key product line. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert on product applications, lead cross-functional teams, and translate customer and market insights into growth, competitive positioning, and measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead product line strategy execution — integrating market insights, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to drive growth and competitive advantage.
- Own the full product lifecycle, including new product development, commercialization, product launch activities, and pricing strategy (base, floor, contract, project, and day-to-day).
- Serve as the Voice of Customer (VOC) expert in customer-facing engagements; partner with Commercial Technology and Account Product Line Management (PLM) to identify new applications and refine product positioning.
- Lead resolution of product, quality, and service issues; maintain alignment with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure supply and demand forecasting accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to reduce product complexity and manufacturing cost at Corning and customer sites.
- Quantify value propositions and assess sensitivity to key assumptions, risks, and market dynamics to strengthen business case rigor.
- Lead strategic, technology, and operational Product Line initiatives through to conclusion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a commercial, product management, or technical role.
- Experience supporting or leading product launches from early-stage justification through commercialization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience executing pricing strategy across multiple pricing structures.
- Analytical capability to conduct complex numerical analysis and build data models in Excel or similar tools.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); ability to communicate technical and commercial content across diverse audiences.
Qualifications
- MBA.
- Background in a Commercial, Product Line Management (PLM), or Commercial Technology function.
- Financial analysis and accounting experience.
- Experience in Voice of Customer (VOC) engagement and customer-facing product representation.
- International business or customer engagement experience.

- Collaborates across Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to deliver shared product outcomes.
- Navigates competing priorities and stakeholder needs to reach timely, balanced resolutions.
- Diagnoses product and quality issues and drives corrective actions with a sense of urgency.
- Manages multiple concurrent initiatives across different stages of the product lifecycle.
Schedule
25 to 50% travel, including international.
Pay
The range for this position is $100,646.00 - $138,388.00 assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
