Product Install Engineer - Extensive 90% + Travel Required

About the Role
The KLA Services team, headquartered in Milpitas, CA, is our service organization that partners with field teams and customers to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products. This role is instrumental in shaping the customer’s first—and lasting—impression of KLA products, services, and technical excellence. As a Product Installation Engineer, you will lead the on-time installation and qualification of complex capital equipment at customer sites globally.
Responsibilities
- Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
- Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment
- Collaborate cross-functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership
- Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process
- Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time
- Secure warranty sign-off on newly installed tools
How You’ll Work
- Operate independently while following documented procedures, exercising sound technical judgment within defined guidelines
- Work under guidance from managers and senior IEs, with increasing autonomy as experience grows
- Engage effectively in cross-cultural and cross-functional environments
- Extensive travel domestically and internationally to support customer installations worldwide
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems
- Experience with high-vacuum systems strongly preferred
- Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking (Windows, Unix, or similar environments)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
- Able to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies
Qualifications
Minimum qualification: Associate of Science in Electronics Technology (ASET) or equivalent work experience in supporting complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry.
Pay
Base pay range: $31.78 - $54.04 per hour.
