Product Engineer | mmWave Radar
About the role
As a Texas Instruments Product Engineer, you will work in a vibrant and dynamic team‑oriented environment with exposure to a variety of state‑of‑the‑art applications each day. You will have the opportunity to work on industry‑leading Radar mmWave sensor devices targeting automotive and industrial markets, contributing to a cross‑functional team developing new DfT techniques for low‑cost test solutions on Advantest/Teradyne ATE platforms, using cutting‑edge CMOS process technology nodes at mmWave frequencies (60 GHz, 81 GHz). The role spans product development, bench evaluation, characterization, failure analysis, process/package technology development, and global manufacturing support for product quality, yield, and cost improvements. This position is based in Dallas, Texas. Note: Texas Instruments will not sponsor job applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.
Responsibilities
- Development work in support of a broad range of analog amplifiers, temperature sensors, sensor‑based analog front ends and application‑specific signal processing comprising advanced integrated circuits that address Automotive and Industrial markets.
- Collaborate and work in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability in all aspects of new product development, production release to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Design bench evaluation PCBs (printed circuit boards) and generate characterization programs for bench evaluations.
- Perform evaluation, debug and characterization of integrated circuits to ensure they meet product requirement specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Work with failure analysis (FA) to determine root cause of any reliability and qualification failures.
- Work with process and package technology development to develop and qualify technologies for new product development.
- Work closely with global manufacturing facilities to address customer‑specific product quality, yield management and cost reductions issues on mature products (including product spins and derivatives).
- Contribute to a cross‑functional team working on new and innovative DfT (Design‑for‑Test) techniques to drive low‑cost test solutions for complex/analog IPs for high‑volume production testing on roadmap ATE test platforms (Advantest, Teradyne).
- Work on cutting‑edge CMOS process technology nodes operating at mmWave frequencies (60 GHz, 81 GHz), targeting a wide breadth of product offerings from high performance/high cost to low power/low cost.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering or related.
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, their operation and analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
- Production test program and hardware development experience.
- ATE experience on V93K or equivalent (J750, VLCT, LTX, iFlex, etc.).
- Knowledge and expertise across core disciplines of PE role (DfT, ATE HW, ATE SW, Characterization, Quality & Reliability, Failure Analysis, & RTM).
- Knowledge of digital and analog test methods, high‑speed interfaces and RF analog.
- Extensive knowledge of statistics and tools to analyze large amounts of production test data and determine/set accurate tracer projects to improve yield and/or reduce test time (mBayse, SpotFire
