Product Engineer*
About the role
The Product Engineer in Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division at 3M will tap into their curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. They will make an impact by expanding product and process understanding for assigned products and new product development. They will lead product changes and support process changes, ensuring they are carried out with full knowledge of the implications and according to change control procedures. They will drive new product scale-up and product characterization phases, working closely with the manufacturing teams. They will create, review, approve, and own product standards and test methods to support customer or new product development requirements. They will drive common product standards across global sites, working with product support teams in other regions. They will assist plants with complaint resolution and reduction projects as needed, using root cause analysis to identify failure modes.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- 7 years of combined product, materials, and/or process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Master's degree or higher with 4 years of combined product, materials, and/or process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- 4 years of pressure sensitive adhesive experience with formulating, developing or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment
- Experience in statistical analysis and utilizing statistical tools
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
- Experience collaborating with production or enterprise supply chain teams
Qualifications

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $145,676 - $178,049, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
Schedule
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 15% domestic/international.
