About the Role

As the Director of Product for Ramps & Identity at Rise, a global payments and payroll platform, you'll own the end-to-end product experience for two critical systems: ramps (money in/out across various rails) and identity (customer verification and attestation). Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll lead multiple engineering leads, set product direction, and be accountable for outcomes. This is a hands-on, technical role requiring deep understanding of payment ecosystems, blockchain, and identity verification.

Responsibilities

  • Ramps:
    • Own funding and payout products (ACH, wires, SEPA, local rails, stablecoin/crypto on/off-ramps)
    • Optimize customer experience (deposit/payout success rates, settlement times, clarity of transaction states)
    • Drive rail and provider strategy (evaluate/negotiate with banking partners, PSPs, on/off-ramp providers)
    • Lead new market/currency expansion and own economics (transaction costs, FX, fees, margins)
    • Reduce friction (returned payments, reconciliation breaks) and ensure provider redundancy
    • Set direction for underlying systems (balance correctness, duplicate payments, reconciliation)
  • Identity:
    • Build products on verified identity (pre-filled onboarding, federated credentials, business identity modeling)
    • Improve verification flows (pass rates, time-to-verified, attestation layer, federation)
    • Turn identity into leverage (auto-lifting limits, faster payouts, product unlocks)
    • Enhance trust through clear status/reasoning and UX
  • Product Leadership:
    • Lead engineering leads, set priorities, and own roadmap across ramps and identity
    • Write specs/decision records and collaborate with compliance, finance, operations, and support
    • Serve as internal/external voice for these products (partner conversations, customer escalations)

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States and U.S.-based
  • 8+ years in product management with senior/leadership scope and outcome ownership
  • Experience leading engineers or engineering leads and shipping products
  • Deep understanding of blockchain/crypto payment ecosystem
  • Direct experience with crypto on/off-ramps and banking integrations
  • Experience with KYC/KYB and identity verification products
  • Comfort working with compliance/regulatory stakeholders (AML obligations)
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills
  • Experience with Ethereum-based products (wallets, exchanges, ramps, tokens)

Qualifications

  • High ownership, accountability, and execution capacity
  • Ability to balance strategy and delivery with direct reports
  • Strong technical product judgment and systems thinking

Nice to Have

  • Experience launching payment corridors in multiple countries
  • Experience in regulated funds-handling environments (MSB, EMI, licensed payments)
  • Data fluency (SQL, funnel analysis)
  • AI-powered workflow experience
  • Fraud and risk product experience

Benefits

  • Meaningful equity in a growing company
  • Unlimited PTO and flexible work schedule
  • 401(k) with 3% company contribution
  • Fully remote within the United States

Pay

Base salary: $190,000–$230,000, commensurate with experience.
