Product Development Mechanical Engineer - Double LL

About the role
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Development team. This position leads the design and development of innovative agricultural ventilation products from concept through production. The ideal candidate is a creative, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving mechanical problems, building prototypes, testing ideas, and seeing products become reality. This role combines mechanical design, project management, product testing, and collaboration with manufacturing to bring new products to market quickly.
Responsibilities
- Lead new product development projects from concept through production launch, including timeline development and cross-functional coordination.
- Take ownership of project success, ensuring technical performance, schedule adherence, and design quality.
- Present concepts, design reviews, and project updates to engineering leadership.
- Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, creating production-ready models, drawings, and Bills of Materials.
- Design products using sheet metal, plastics, machined components, and fabricated assemblies, applying DFM and DFA principles.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and component selection.
- Design and build prototypes to validate new concepts, develop and execute engineering test plans, and refine designs based on test results.
- Perform engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) to support design decisions.
- Work closely with manufacturing to ensure smooth production transitions, resolve issues, and implement engineering improvements.
- Support suppliers during component development and production, participating in design reviews focused on manufacturability, quality, and cost.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing products for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Investigate product failures, perform root cause analysis, and support field testing at company test sites.
- Use customer and service feedback to drive future product improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ years of mechanical design or product development experience.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
