Product development Engineer

About the role

This role sits at the center of product, process, and performance, ensuring that every new product, material change, and improvement to the line have a direct impact on cost, quality, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product development across extrusion, press, and conversion
• Translate customer needs into practical, executable manufacturing solutions
• Design and execute trial runs that surface risks before scale
• Partner with Sales and customers on new business onboarding
• Troubleshoot quality issues, internal and customer-facing
• Evaluate new materials and alternative sources within quality and cost targets
• Drive process improvements and efficiency gains across the plant
• Act as the technical bridge between product, operations, and commercial teams
• Support quoting and new business through CRM ownership (PD perspective)

Requirements

• 5+ years in manufacturing product development or engineering
• Experience working hands-on in production environments
• Packaging experience is a strong plus, films, extrusion, or converting preferred
• Strong problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable working across teams from operators to executives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
