About the role

Join our close-knit engineering team as a Product Development Engineer to work on exciting new technologies in advanced LED light engines, electronics, drivers, controls, optics, and custom OEM solutions. Collaborate with customers, manufacturing, and fellow engineers to bring innovative products to market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop next-generation LED light engines, electronic assemblies, drivers and lighting controls.
  • Support customer projects by translating application requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through production.
  • Design, prototype, test and refine new products.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure designs are robust, reliable and manufacturable.
  • Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, optical, manufacturing and quality disciplines.
  • Support continuous improvement of existing products and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

We're looking for an engineer who brings expertise in one discipline and enjoys working across many others. You may have experience in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Mechanical or Electromechanical Design, Optics, Manufacturing or Quality Engineering, Embedded Systems or Controls. Most importantly, you have a genuine passion for engineering, lighting and electronics. Enjoy building, creating and solving problems. Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Communicate well with customers, suppliers and colleagues. Enjoy taking products from concept through production and seeing real-world results. Have a hobbyist or maker mindset—you build, experiment and learn because you enjoy it.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Relevant work experience in engineering roles is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with design and development of electronic and optical components.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
