Product Development Engineer
About the role
The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) within KLA is seeking talented professionals to join our team. BBP provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. This division is responsible for developing and deploying cutting-edge optical inspection solutions to ensure high yields and quality in semiconductor fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Conducting research and development on optical inspection systems to improve defect detection and process control.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to optical and mechanical systems.
- Developing and implementing new optical inspection algorithms and methodologies.
- Providing technical support and guidance to colleagues and customers.
- Participating in project meetings and contributing to the development of new products and processes.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years.
- Strong background in engineering or the physical sciences with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in optics, opto-mechanics, precision motion control systems, and computing hardware systems.
- Experience with scientific and statistical analysis tools such as Matlab, Python, JMP, and familiarity with image analysis methods.
- Experience with Zemax and other optical design software.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years.
- Experience with optical, electromechanical, and software systems and their interactions in complex industrial equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively to provide detailed guidance to colleagues and write technical summaries for internal and external customers.
Skills
- Proficiency in optical design software (Zemax).
- Experience with image analysis methods.
