About the role
The Product Development Engineer will work in the System Engineering group at KLA's Totowa, NJ location. This role focuses on conceptualizing, developing, and testing next-generation devices for chemical analysis technology. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to define requirements and develop specifications for the chemical analysis process.
Responsibilities
- Work with Applications, R&D, and engineering to define requirements and develop specifications for the chemical analysis process.
- Develop improvement plans and test plans to meet requirements and drive vendors to execute those plans.
- Evaluate and test materials used for devices or new designs to determine compatibility with the application chemistry.
- Conceptualize and bring to fruition new device designs, defining requirements and identifying gaps.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering groups to define and review designs and test plans.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.
- Experience or related study in microfluidic systems, material science, spectrophotometry, or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with scientific and statistical analysis tools such as Matlab, Python, and LabView.
- Strong background in engineering or physical sciences with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of Mechanical, Fiber-optic, Fluidic, and Electromechanical systems.
