Product Development Engineer (Analytical Hardware)

About the role

The Product Development Engineer will work in the System Engineering group at KLA's Totowa, NJ location. This role focuses on conceptualizing, developing, and testing next-generation devices for chemical analysis technology. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to define requirements and develop specifications for the chemical analysis process.

Responsibilities

• Work with Applications, R&D, and engineering to define requirements and develop specifications for the chemical analysis process.
• Develop improvement plans and test plans to meet requirements and drive vendors to execute those plans.
• Evaluate and test materials used for devices or new designs to determine compatibility with the application chemistry.
• Conceptualize and bring to fruition new device designs, defining requirements and identifying gaps.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering groups to define and review designs and test plans.

Requirements

• Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.
• Experience or related study in microfluidic systems, material science, spectrophotometry, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with scientific and statistical analysis tools such as Matlab, Python, and LabView.
• Strong background in engineering or physical sciences with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Mechanical, Fiber-optic, Fluidic, and Electromechanical systems.
