Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards, and policies to help eliminate health hazards and prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents.
- Drive projects against set milestones and deliver results. Coordinate related activities including formulation, processing, testing, and application.
- Perform and document generally standardized, routine chemical and physical tests of finished goods and compare the results with established standards and customer requirements.
- Work closely with product management, manufacturing, and procurement organizations to develop new products and maintain existing product lines through formulation and product optimization.
- Support manufacturing to ensure quality products are delivered to customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a relevant technical field with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a lab setting, preferably in the coatings industry.
- Previous experience in architectural, waterborne coatings, or other coatings technology and/or coatings manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Experience with coatings formulation and testing is strongly preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent lab documentation skills are required.
