Product Designer (UX), HCI

About the role

This role focuses on designing human-computer interaction (HCI) interfaces for a proactive AI smart assistant. The goal is to enable users to understand, guide, correct, and stay in control of AI systems that reason and act across multiple steps.

Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end user experiences for AI product surfaces, from concept to shipped product.
• Design interaction patterns for human-AI workflows, including prompting, review, confirmation, correction, handoff, and recovery.
• Develop interfaces that help users understand the AI’s actions, knowledge, uncertainties, and future steps.
• Translate complex, multi-step AI capabilities into intuitive, controllable flows for everyday use.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and machine learning (ML) teams to define problems, test ideas, and rapidly ship solutions.
• Conduct wireframing, flowcharting, prototyping, and high-fidelity design for both web and mobile platforms.
• Run lightweight user research and usability tests to identify areas of friction, trust issues, and failure points.
• Help establish reusable HCI design patterns as the product and design system evolve.

Requirements

• Experience as a product designer or UX designer with a strong portfolio across web or mobile products.
• Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping.
• Proficiency in Figma and the ability to iterate quickly.
• The ability to simplify complex systems and translate unclear product behavior into clear user experiences.
• Experience working effectively with product managers and engineers in fast-paced teams.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and shape solutions even when requirements are not fully defined.
• A good understanding of usability, edge cases, and failure handling.
• A clear grasp of trust, control, feedback, and transparency in AI-driven experiences.

Qualifications

• Education in design, computer science, psychology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in product design or UX design.
• Proven success in delivering impactful designs that meet business goals and user needs.
• Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.
• Knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies.

Skills

• Expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping tools like Figma.
• Ability to simplify complex systems and turn unclear product behavior into clear user experiences.
• Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of AI and machine learning technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
