About The Role

We’re hiring a Staff Product Designer for our Benefits team to design and launch a new product offering aimed at transforming how small businesses manage employee benefits. This role involves leading the end-to-end design process, from initial problem framing to MVP development, with a focus on creating clear, human-centered experiences that simplify complex benefits workflows.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in product design, UX/UI, or service design, preferably within AI-enabled products
  • Strong understanding of human-in-the-loop workflows, fairness, privacy, and trust principles
  • Experience designing AI-assisted decision-making systems and integrating AI behaviors responsibly
  • Expertise in redesigning service blueprints where AI automates workflows and escalates cases to humans
  • Data-driven mindset with experience partnering with analytics and AI teams to define success metrics and evaluate impact
  • Strong collaboration skills to influence cross-functional strategy and resolve complex trade-offs
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and building onboarding or training programs to elevate team capabilities
  • Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools for rapid prototyping and production-quality UI delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and design efforts for new Benefits products, from problem framing to MVP definition, grounded in real employer and employee workflows
  • Design comprehensive end-to-end service experiences across employer, employee, and internal operations workflows
  • Identify opportunities where AI can reduce complexity while maintaining transparency and decision control
  • Design AI-assisted decision points that empower customers to make confident choices
  • Define safety, scalability, and guardrails for AI systems, including objects, rules, states, and exception paths
  • Shape data models and UX to facilitate collaboration between humans and AI, ensuring clarity and reducing errors
  • Establish product feedback loops to continuously improve AI performance, including success metrics and human-in-the-loop review patterns
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools to prototype and ship high-quality UI components efficiently in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to set principles for fairness, privacy, and responsible AI usage
  • Redesign service blueprints to incorporate AI automation and escalation pathways with transparency
  • Define strategic experimentation plans, track impact, and iterate based on data insights
  • Mentor team members, build reusable design patterns, and promote best practices in AI-integrated design
