Product Designer, Human Interface
About the role
As a product designer at Meta, you'll have the opportunity to play a central role in the way we build technologies — ensuring they are valuable, easy to use and of the highest level of craft and execution. You'll be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product innovation to tweaking pixels right before launch. We'll expect you to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design and visual design skills, while contributing to high-level strategic decisions with product and executive partners.

Responsibilities
- Define and drive the design vision across a product portfolio or organization, setting the bar for quality, coherence, and innovation at scale.
- Lead and deliver design projects of significant organizational scope and ambiguity, often spanning multiple product areas or requiring novel approaches with no established playbook.
- Translate company-level strategy into design direction, influencing roadmaps and shaping the future of Meta products at an executive level.
- Design and champion experiences that set new standards for simplicity, elegance, and usability across our platforms, serving as a reference point for the broader design organization.
- Define, evolve, and unify visual and interaction systems that scale across products and platforms.
- Serve as a recognized design expert across multiple product and business areas, maintaining deep awareness of industry trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and solve the organization's most complex design challenges.
- Elevate the design practice across the organization through active mentorship, sponsorship, and the development of frameworks that raise the quality and impact of the broader design team.
- Drive executive-level partnerships with product, engineering, research, and content strategy leadership, influencing org-wide priorities and aligning cross-functional teams around a shared user experience vision.
- Represent design strategy and rationale to senior leadership and cross-functional executives, shaping organizational alignment on product direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8+ years designing software products with a focus on user experience, interaction, and visual design that meet business objectives
- Proven ability to leverage research and data to set product strategy and influence organizational direction
- Demonstrated strategic product thinking at the portfolio or organizational level, with the ability to communicate a compelling vision to executive audiences
- Deep expertise in prototyping tools and the ability to evaluate and advance design craft across fidelity levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized industry or organizational leadership in defining the design direction for virtual, augmented, mixed reality, and emerging technology products at scale
- Demonstrated ability to shape cross-functional strategy and influence senior stakeholders across User Research, Engineering, and Product Management to drive alignment on novel, ambiguous product spaces
- Expert-level prototyping and systems thinking for 3D interactions and spatial interfaces, with the ability to advance tooling and methodology for the broader team
- Pioneering contributions to the design of novel user inputs (hand tracking, eye tracking, spatial audio, etc.), including defining best practices and patterns adopted across products
- Experience setting the strategic design direction for developer and/or creator platforms, with demonstrated impact on ecosystem growth, scalability, and long-term platform health
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Pay
$201,000/year to $278,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
