Product Designer - Fully Remote | Up to $110/hr

About the role

Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Headquartered in San Francisco, our investors include Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey. Position: Senior Product Designer, UI/UX. Type: Contract. Location: Remote.

Responsibilities

• Partner with AI researchers to identify best-in-class UI and UX patterns, turning them into clear principles and rubrics.
• Build polished, interactive web prototypes using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Tailwind or AI-native tools like Cursor, v0, Lovable, and Bolt.
• Review AI-generated interfaces and provide specific, actionable feedback on layout, hierarchy, interaction, motion, and visual polish.
• Explore a wide range of visual styles and animation approaches, from productivity tools to consumer apps and games.
• Collaborate with designers and researchers to maintain consistency and elevate quality standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a product designer, design lead, or creative front-end engineer.
• Hands-on prototyping skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Tailwind, or AI-native tools.
• Strong grounding in user-centered design, interaction design, and rapid prototyping.
• Senior-level design judgment with the ability to set direction and explain design choices.
• Ability to engage reliably for 40 hours/week.
• Clear written communication and precise, constructive design feedback.

Skills

• Fluency with motion and animation tools like Framer Motion, GSAP, Rive, Lottie, After Effects, or experience in 3D and WebGL.

Pay

Compensation: $80–$110/hour. W-2 employment with Cincinnatus LLC.

Schedule

Commitment: 40 hours/week.
