Product Designer
The Role
Getting software off the ground is the easy part these days. It's the last stretch, the difference between "it works" and "it's great", that actually matters. We need a craft-obsessed designer who raises the bar wherever they land: someone who brings sharp interaction and visual design instincts, sweats the details that make a product feel considered, and moves fast without losing the thread on quality.
What You'll Do
- Own design end-to-end for high-impact product areas, from early concept through shipped, polished execution.
- Apply strong interaction design, visual design, and information architecture fundamentals to solve real problems for contractors doing real work.
- Help define new interaction patterns for agentic and AI-powered experiences, where the old rules of "screen in, screen out" don't fully apply.
- Sketch, prototype, and test ideas at different levels of fidelity to validate decisions quickly.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to align on goals, move fast, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Communicate design decisions clearly, invite feedback, and actively participate in critique.
- Contribute to our design system, helping keep it consistent, scalable, and genuinely useful.
The Impact You'll Have
- Raise the craft bar across the product areas you touch, and show others what great looks and feels like along the way.
- Partner closely with product managers and engineers to bring ideas from concept to shipped feature.
- Shape how real people get their jobs done more easily, every time they open the app.
- Help build a product used by teams across the country to document and manage their work.
What You'll Bring
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally with experience shipping complex, high-quality features for a SaaS product.
- Proven craft: you know what great design looks and feels like, and you push the work until it gets there.
- Strong interaction design and visual design skills, with the range to work across desktop, mobile, and emerging AI-driven surfaces.
- Ability to balance speed and detail: knowing when to move fast and when to obsess over the last 1%.
- Experience working end-to-end, from big-picture systems thinking down to the smallest interaction detail.
- Experience building prototypes to communicate ideas.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to apply them effectively.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive design principles.
- Excitement for using AI as part of your design workflow, and for designing agentic experiences where AI is a participant in the product, not just a feature bolted on.
- Agency, ownership, and autonomy: you don't wait to be told what to do.
- A continuous growth mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving.
What Success Looks Like
- You've raised the design bar. Your work gets pointed to as an example of exceptional craft and taste.
- You've shipped product with real business impact. The areas you own are visibly better because of you.
- You operate autonomously. You don't wait for direction. You see what needs to be done and do it.
- Engineers love working with you. Your designs are considered, clear, and easy to implement.
- Your peers trust your judgment. When you push for quality, people listen.
