About the role
We're looking for a Design Engineer who lives at the intersection of design and code. You'll work closely with our Audio team to prototype, build, and polish the experiences that make our audio product suite feel effortless, taking ideas from initial sketches to shipped interactions. This role is perfect for someone who thinks like a designer and can build like an engineer.
Responsibilities
- Build production-quality UI components and interactions that delight musicians and producers
- Rapidly prototype new concepts to test ideas before committing to a full build
- Own the quality of UI across our suite of audio products — pixel-perfect execution and interactions that feel great in an artist's hands
- Work with product, engineering, and audio research to figure out what's possible and shape where the product goes
- Build design systems and component libraries that help the whole team ship faster across desktop, web, plugin, and mobile
Qualifications
- You're equally comfortable in Figma and your code editor
- You have strong front-end engineering skills: React, TypeScript, Next.js, CSS, animations
- You have a sharp eye for detail and care deeply about craft
- You've shipped polished products and know what it takes to get from 90% to 100%
- You move fast — prototyping ideas in hours, not days
- You think in systems, not one-off screens
- You're genuinely excited about AI and want to help define how the future of creative tools works
Nice to have
- Experience building creative tools, audio or music software, or other complex products
- A design background or formal design training
- Experience with plugins, native UI frameworks (SwiftUI, JUCE, Tauri), or shipping cross-platform apps
- Familiarity with DAWs, MIDI, Web Audio, or music production
Interview Process
As part of the interview process, you'll be asked to present examples of your design work and participate in a design review. We're interested in understanding your design thinking, decision-making process, and how you collaborate to solve complex product challenges.
